This year, Nathalie Garrigou and Bernard Geoffroy present their work in photography and sculpture.
“Birth – rebirth and transfiguration” is the theme of the 2025 edition.
Metamorphosis, as a process of physical modification, can be likened to the creative process, in that the artist explores ways of transforming the world. He seeks a result that is more akin to contemplation, with the work arousing emotion and questioning reason. In art, transfiguration implies the change of a figure, form, space or aspect into another. Initiated in 1998 by the Vignerons Indépendants du Var, Art & Vin invites visual artists-painters, sculptors, photographers, ceramists, street-artists… to install their works or perform in emblematic locations such as cellars, wineries, or in the middle of vineyards. This year, Domaine du Deffends will be exhibiting photos of the Basilica of Saint Maximin by Nathalie Garrigou and sculptures by Bernard Geoffroy. The photographs bear witness to the renovation work carried out on this emblematic Provencal Gothic building. The sculptures are the metamorphosis of the initial form that the natural elements have kindly drawn.
